The Byrnes Foundation was looking for a Fijian Charity to donate money through to assist them to continue to support local remote schools.
The Byrnes Foundation, through Grant Pisani, will engage the schools and suppliers to design and create the Jerseys, shorts and socks while the charity can pay the invoices, promote on social media and can have logo placement on the jerseys and shorts.
When approached to fill this role, FijiLIFE Foundation jumped at the opportunity to work with this far-sighted long term partner, The Byrnes Foundation, to make a difference to these communities.
The FijiLIFE Foundation has formed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Byrnes Foundation. Together we will provide money to support developing Grass Roots Rugby Teams in Fiji (including equipment for schools and men’s and women’s teams, entry fees, and travel expenses).

FIJILIFE FOUNDATION SUPPORT GRASSROOT RUGBY INITIATIVE – WESTERN DIVISION FIJI
The Byrnes Foundation has generously donated money to FijiLIFE Foundation to enable us to disburse funds for rugby expenses in disadvantaged remote villages to develop Grassroots rugby in Fiji and to provide pathways and opportunities to Kids in Fiji.
The Foundation has agreed that 50% of funds will be used for grassroots development of rugby in Fiji and 50% of funds will be be used by FijiLIFE for our charity projects helping poor, disadvantaged, and needy people in Fiji.
The Byrnes Foundation donated AUD$6,000 (approx. FJD$8,650) in February 2025. A further donation is expected at the end of the financial year 2025 where we can re-assess the relationship.
FijiLIFE is excited and privileged to be involved with helping to develop rugby in smaller impoverished Fijian villages in the Yasawa Islands.

I stand before you today filled with immense gratitude. First and foremost, I want to express our deepest thanks to the Fiji LIFE DOUNDATION LIMITED – Support Grassroot Rugby Initiatve, for this wonderful event and the opportunity to address this gathering.
We are truly honored and humbled by the overwhelming support and encouragement from Fiji Life Foundation, and family. Your unwavering belief in investing in the holistic development to the students on Ratu Nemani Memorial School, Vanua Tabanivono, has been a constant source of strength and motivation throughout our future leaders journey.
We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Fiji Life Foundation, abroad and Fiji, and all whom we have not mention, as this sports Uniform Donation will really boost development at Grass root Level.
