The Coral Coast 7s is Fiji’s premier annual rugby sevens tournament, drawing elite teams and players from around the globe to the picturesque town of Sigatoka.

Founded in 2010, the event came to life by combining two great assets of Fiji: Rugby Sevens and the Coral Coast. It serves as a vital proving ground for rising Fijian talent and attracts top international teams year after year.

Held every January at Lawaqa Park, the tournament champions the spirit of rugby, fierce competition, and community engagement, all set against the backdrop of Fiji’s famous Coral Coast.

In January 2026 FijiLIFE Foundation sponsored two remote island grassroots rugby schoolboy teams to participate in the tournament and play against each other on Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

Rugby jerseys, transport, and meals were supported by The Brynes Foundation, Sydney, from where Mr Grant Pisani was the referee for the match.

The two schools involved were Ratu Nemani Memorial School at Momi Village vs Burua Youth Primary School from the interior of Nadi where kids from Vagadra village, Vunamoli village, and Uto village attend their Primary School.

The kids enjoyed a wonderful experience travelling in buses from their locations to Sigatoka to showcase their skills in a world famous tournament and meet senior international Fiji rugby players.
